United Poly Systems Announces New Earth-Line™ Product Suite to Support Renewables

United Poly Systems announced today a new product line specifically manufactured to support methane and bio-gas transmission, geothermal applications and wind farm infrastructure.

Earth-Line represents United Poly System’s commitment to a sustainable future and is ideal for many renewables-related pipeline applications. Manufactured with premium high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, the Earth-Line suite includes Thermal-Line™ for geothermal applications, Wind-Line™ for wind farm infrastructure and Bio-Line™ for methane capture and transmission. UPS has extensive experience working with the premium resins needed to manufacture Earth-Line products.

The Earth-Line announcement complements United Poly System’s recent announcement of its Crystal-Line™ product suite for water transmission that supports water conservation efforts.

Logan Bridges, Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Commercial Operations, noted, “Renewable energy sources are fast becoming part of the country’s energy mix. In 2020, renewables accounted for approximately 17 percent of total U.S. electricity production and over 25 percent globally. With the recent announcement of the U.S. commitment to cut carbon emissions by around 50 percent by 2030, the percent will grow. With Earth-Line, UPS is positioned to support many of the industries contributing to renewable energy.”

Benefits of HDPE pipe compared to traditional copper and metal pipe include:

  • No corrosion when compared to copper pipe
  • HDPE fusion joints are stronger than solder joints
  • Lower cost Longer life span, 50 to 100 years
  • Flexibility of HDPE pipe, compared to metal pipe, aids in installation
  • More installation methods available for HDPE (open cut, directional drilling) compared to copper pipe

Product Information
Bio-Line is ideal for capture and transmission of methane produced on farms and bio-gas produced in landfills.

Thermal-Line supports general geothermal applications, such as the piping used when heating water circulated in underground geothermal circulation systems. Thermal-Line can also be used as the pipe of choice in installing these systems in residential housing and other developments.

Wind-Line is a large-diameter conduit, typically used on wind farms for high-voltage transfer lines. Because wind farms typically cover sizable areas, large amounts of conduit are needed to protect the high-voltage lines transferring power from each turbine to the storage center.

About United Poly Systems
United Poly Systems produces quality HDPE pipe in diameters from ¾-in. to 26-in. IPS, 4-in. to 24-in. DIPS and ¾-in. to 2-in. CTS for use in many industries including telecommunications, power utility, potable water, wastewater, reclaimed water, electrical, gas distribution and oil and gas gathering. As the market for HDPE pipe continues to grow with initiatives to improve, repair, and broaden the country’s infrastructure, United Poly Systems will be there to meet the growing needs, by providing high performance products to ensure a safer and cleaner infrastructure for decades to come.

Our off-the-shelf HDPE conduit/pipe is available in a variety of sizes, colors, dimensions and lengths, with or without stripes. We also offer fully customizable HDPE conduit options.
